Steve Luigi History Steve has been involved with the UK music scene since the late 1960s and was quickly influenced by all music with 'black' origin. His first love was Tamla Motown and Northern Soul, and quickly excelled as a successful DJ/Promoter in these and other categories such as Funk, Jazz/Funk, Disco and House Music. Steve was catapulted into being a House DJ when in the 1980s the genre of music appeared in the UK. Steve owned 3 record shops in Leeds City for 18 years, so was in a good position to find the music to play. He was the first ever DJ to play a House record in the City of Leeds, and was resident DJ at the infamous 'Leeds Gallery' for 9 years. The club, whilst under his promotion was voted the 2nd best nightclub in Europe by international music magazine 'Mixmag', being only beaten to the punch by the equally infamous 'Hacienda' in Manchester He now owns a huge record collection (vinyl) including all of the aforementioned styles. Steve is 'Old Skool' and has resisted the temptation to move to digital media as he still thinks that vinyl rules. Steve has been featured in many music orientated magazines, Radio shows, TV productions and art exhibitions, and has unbounded knowledge of the music industry as a whole. Steve, 7 years ago, relaunched the event that he attended as a teen 'The Leeds Central Soul Club'. This has performed far beyond expectation and has been voted the best small basement Northern Soul Alldayer in the UK, attended by Soulies from far and wide. Steve also hosts a Northern Soul & Tamla Motown Radio show every Tuesday night from 8pm til' 10pm on www.peoplescityradio.co.uk If you would like Steve to DJ at your event, or to help promote it, email him on email@example.com or on Twitter or Facebook Satisfaction is guaranteed!
